A quick vid Where I try to set up a quick tarp shelter while I;m being sprayed with a hose LOL Why??? well...whynot.. was getting kinda stinky anyway.. One additional way I could have made this significantly faster would have been carrying the stakes and cordage with me once I started to save time..But this is why we practice..to get better! Instead of putting your tarp in the wool blanket, wouldn't you want to use it to wrap your wool blanket to keep it dry?

Why complicate your life? Mora has already solved one of the great problems off modern times. They have, quite simply, produced the best bushcraft knife for the best price. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone to disagree with that. Now that we've got the knife out of the way--how about a good, small, folding saw? Then we can move on to a cook pot, a rucksack, and .......... at some point, a good forest to disappear into.

Is there wire in the brim of the Tilley as well, or how did you cowboy it up? My T3s can be hard to tame but that looks sharp.

I got a fire kit with a small ferro rod and enough kindling to start 10,000 fires. It only cost $2 and it is called a Bic lighter. It has lasted 6 years and running.

If you get a piece of water proof canvas and use it as a water proof barrier things will go a lot better for you. 8 by 10 piece of water proof canvas will give you so many more shelter options to go with your wool blanket.

I have a Mini Peasant. It's a Roman Peasant knife made in New Zealand from a high-carbon Swedish tool steel called Sanvik L7 that Svord uses with a proprietary tempering formula to create an outstanding blade at a crazy cheap price. Svord makes their money from selling lots of knives instead of selling fewer at a larger profit. I filed that point off the back of the handle. It's a great EDC and you can drop it and so what? It's tough and inexpensive and perfect for what it is, a great blade that holds an edge EXTREMELY well with the most simple handle design and being able to grab that tang as you reach into your pocket is something you get used to right away.

For summer sun a all cotton hat works, for wet winter not so much. I would say that at the end of summer wash the cotton bonnie hat and spray the top and outer brim with Scotchgard for water resistance. By the end of next spring the treatment will have faded and the cotton will once again be breathable. If you are faced with truly harsh weather a wool hat or a Seattle Sombrero are what you need.

This is one of the BEST reviews of a knife that ive ever seen... Badass, sir. I went ahead and bought one after watching this. And it didn't disappoint. I put a sharper edge on it, (but i almost always do that, anyways). Svord should be paying you...seriously.
